Bryden Wood innovators reach WICE Awards finals

That’s the rocking chair’s natural habitat!.

I did this a couple of weeks ago and it just brightened my whole outlook in the livingroom.Back in the day, about 8 years ago when Kennedy was a baby, Chris used to build a lot of basic furniture pieces for me because, well, we had none.

This was back in the day before I even knew what a blog was or that other people did this too!I really wanted a console table for behind the sofa, so Chris put this one together for me for about $40.If anyone’s interested in a tutorial on this one, let me know!.

Well, it’s seen better days, but I’m still not quite ready to get rid of it.But I thought a paint job was in order.

In fact, one day I suddenly found myself really really wanting to paint it and nothing could be done to stop me!

It was about 9:30 pm on a Saturday night and this. It’s a little different, and a little less perfect (of course), but it’s still the same basic idea..

It started out as a plain wood tissue box cover from Dollarama that I was just going to paint white to cover up all those ugly bright boxes you get with your tissues. Then Kennedy saw it and wanted to paint it all kinds of crazy colors herself, so I let her.

Hey, it kept her busy for 20 minutes!Sometimes that’s worth it!.
